The fault model for a UDP channel.

UDP is connectionless and never guarantees delivery, so there is no FailStop variant — messages can always be dropped.

Variants§

§

Lossy

Messages may be lost (e.g. due to network partitions or congestion).

§

LossyDelayedForever

Dropped messages are treated as indefinitely delayed.
